Sark, the smallest of the four main Channel Islands, is located eighty miles off the south coast of England, and just twenty miles from France - a beautiful short ferry ride from Guernsey or Jersey.
Sark is only 3 miles long and a mile and a half wide, but is surrounded by 40 miles of what is considered some of the most picturesque coastlines anywhere in the world. Aside from its unmatchable beauty, Sark has a unique history – with its sister islands, it was the only British territory to be occupied by German forces in World War II and, until just last year, was the only remaining feudal state in Europe. There are no cars (transport is by horse and cart, bicycle or on foot), which gives Sark an enchantment all of its own.
